What a ride it was! Micromelon played a big part in running RoboRAVE Australia, from directing the event to staffing the arena floor, and bringing students from across the country and around the world together. The 2024 World Championships were the biggest RoboRAVE Australia event ever, and the core team of volunteers behind it knew they couldn't give future events the time they'd need to live up to it, so they chose to finish on a high. The memories, results and photos live on here, and we're still cheering on young roboticists every day with the Micromelon Rover, Code Editor and classroom resources.

2024 RoboRAVE World Championships

UniSC Arena, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia

July 13-14th 2024

A huge thank you to competitors, coaches, volunteers and spectators for coming to the largest RoboRAVE Australia event ever.

Also thanks to our sponsors and supporters who made this event possible. Without their support we cannot run RoboRAVE Australia events and keep our low barrier to entry mission to get as many students involved with Robotics as possible.

What is RoboRAVE Australia?

RoboRAVE Australia is a series of annual events leading up to the hosting of the RoboRAVE World Championships in 2024. This exciting initiative aims to engage students and adults in collaborative robotic competition. The events will see competitors engineering robots that climb vertical surfaces, battle in sumo arenas, negotiate mazes and use vision technology to follow lines and track objects.

The RoboRAVE series of challenges is open to students, hobbyists and budding entrepreneurs of all ages. RoboRAVE is a unique format in that participants can enter using any robotics platform, at any age, with any level of experience and from anywhere in the world. In order to compete, competitors will need to be able to design, build and program a fully autonomous robot to complete a given task.

The aims of the competition are to overcome complex and sometimes unknown tasks through mechanical and coding iterations, whilst also promoting collaborative relationships between teams from different backgrounds, levels of experience and expertise. As a result of exposing students to such challenges, they develop resilience, grit and problem solving skills, which are the key qualities of successful entrepreneurs.

Enquiry and project-based learning are the educational philosophies deeply embedded in the nature of the RoboRAVE competition. Alongside the competition, entrants will have the opportunity to view a range of full scale industry robots, high performance vehicles, virtual reality experiences and displays by industry related potential employers.
